Heidi and Bryan met in 2010 using OKCupid. They were both living in Brooklyn--about 10 blocks apart--but it took a dating app to meet each other. After a few days of chatting back and forth, Bryan asked Heidi for a drink at a local bar and they hit it off right away. They’ve been inseparable ever since!
After dating for 7 years, Heidi and Bryan knew that they were going to get married but they just needed to make it official. They went out to dinner for their 7th anniversary to Casa Enrique, one of the best restaurants in Long Island City. They had planned to swap gifts but Bryan said that his was too big to bring to dinner, so when they got home, Bryan pulled out a large square flat box. He had made a big photobook of all of their pictures together (with captions). On the very last page, he had taped a ring bag. He got down on one knee, asked Heidi to marry him. She said “Yes, of course!”
Heidi and Bryan chose the Water’s Edge Resort and Spa after having stayed there during July 4th weekend back in 2013. After getting engaged, they remembered how great the hotel was and thought it would make the perfect venue with its big ballroom and terrace overlooking the water.
Their color palette was summery and light but also classic incorporating golds, dusty rose, and greys/blues. The invitations came from Minted and included gold foil embossing. The invites actually helped to set the wedding colors and tone for the rest of the wedding. Heidi felt the best wedding details were the flowers. She burst into tears when she saw her bouquet: so wild and full of color and texture.
Heidi and Bryan wanted to keep the focus on what was truly important to them: their guests! So they made sure their day would be FUN-filled with good food, lots of drinks, and some surprises along the way such as: kazoos, a Yankee ticket raffle, a pop song string trio, a caricature artist, and mini pies to-go at the end of the night!
We hope you love these pictures and thank you for choosing us to share in your special day!
