Samantha and Louie both grew up in Middletown, but their paths didn’t cross until they started working out at the same gym. After a couple months of working out together, they went out on a date. When they returned home, Louie rocked Samantha’s daughter Avery, who was 3 months old at the time, to sleep. Since then, they’ve been inseparable.
Louie proposed at their home one evening when Samantha arrived home from work. She sat down and when she turned around, Louie was down on one knee, holding Avery and a ring. It couldn’t have been more heartfelt or perfect!
Samantha and Louis were married surrounded by family and friends in an outdoor wedding ceremony in early August. Both the ceremony and reception were held at the always fabulous, The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station in Haddam, CT.
We loved so many things about their ceremony, including the ring that was presented to Samantha’s daughter, Avery, to symbolize the three of them becoming a family. Samantha’s father also made a very heartfelt speech about marriage and how it takes three: you, your spouse, and God. These three will bind Samantha and Louis together as one throughout their marriage.
Samantha and Louie enjoy hiking and being outside and wanted their wedding to have a rustic feel to reflect their lifestyle. Samantha incorporated her favorite color purple with the bridesmaid’s dresses and men’s ties and including orchids in the flowers. This was complemented by the succulent greens which gave everything an earthy look.
It’s clear the special bond that exists between Samantha and Louis. Ask anyone, and they’ll say that they both complement and bring out the best in one another. It was fun to capture them sharing love and laughter with their family members and best friends, and it was special to take photos away from the crowd, allowing them to be alone together.
