Rebecca and Pete first met while attending the US Merchant Marine Academy. They were friends who parted ways after graduation. But their destiny had different plans.
They found each other again years later, this time - in New Orleans. Rebecca was stationed there in the Coast Guard.
At their first date, Rebecca and Pete had an amazing night. The rest was history.
It was only fitting that their wedding ceremony took place at Mariner's Chapel. On the campus of the US Merchant Marine Academy, back where it all started.
At the end of the service, a tunnel of swords waited for the newlyweds to pass under. The sword ceremony is an old Marine custom, which gives a symbolic pledge of loyalty to the newlyweds.
Then, the bride and groom hit the streets with friends and family in true New Orleans tradition. With drums and decorative umbrellas in hands, we marched to the beat of our own parade in the streets.
This led us to the reception hall for food, fun, dancing. We also found the prettiest views of the Throgs Neck Bridge here. It was beyond beautiful.
Rebecca and Pete's wedding day was an incredible. It reminded Sebastian and I, once again, that we have the best job in the world.
Rebecca and Pete, we wish you both all the best in your journey together as husband and wife. xo
